IMPULSE Wireless Dwell Time and TX talkback

IMPULSE Wireless Dwell Time and TX talkback

Dwell Time allows you to talk back on an active talkgroup with incoming activity, even if you have not selected TX on that talkgroup. Traditional radios will call this "Scan Talkback" or an "RX Group List".

You may have multiple talkgroups (channels) selected to receive incoming activity, however you may only have one talkgroup selected for TX.

If you receive incoming activity on a talkgroup which is not what you had selected for TX, the TX will automatically jump to that talkgroup to allow you to easily participate in the call by simply pressing PTT, with no on-screen interaction required. This will last for a configurable "dwell time", after which the TX will revert to the previously set talkgroup. During the dwell time, your previously set TX will show a timer icon, indicating that you have been automatically reverted to the active talkgroup.

Once the activity on the talkgroup finishes, and the dwell timer expires, the TX will revert to what you selected previously.

Admin can turn this feature off, so that incoming activity will not affect your chosen TX talkgroup. In that case, you will always TX on the selected talkgroup, regardless of incoming activity on other talkgroups.
